PRANATHI PRATISTHANA  in collaboration with MITRA JOTHI (An NGO working on rehabilitation of Blind children)celebrated 62nd Kannada Rajyotsava& formally relaunched‘Sanchaya’, a popular monthly audio publication in Kannada specially made for people with vision impairment, on 11th November, 2017, Saturday. Pranathi Prathishtaana is a dream project initiated by Mr. S.R Raghavendra, almost 25 years ago with the sole objective of showcasing the richness and expanse of Kannada Literature and its culture.

The chief guest of this function was Shri L. G. Jyothishwar, well known Anchor, Media Expert, Creator of Kannada Tongue twisters and word jugglery. On this auspicious occasion, the November edition of Sanchaya – a Kannada audio monthly magazine for the visually impaired (published by MitraJyothi audio library) was released by the chief guest.

Sri.Hanumantha Rao Koujalagi of Pranathi Pratisthanawho has taken up the task of creating these magazines in his own unique voice incorporating latest information and technology was felicitated during this occasion.

Chief Guest Shri L. G. Jyothishwar remembered his audio book recording experiences decades ago for visually impaired students and complemented MitraJyothi for their work in this regard. He also shared some of the tongue twisters, palindromes and poem, written by him in Kannada.

The highlight of this function was a Live Concert by Shri Pranathi Raghavendra Rao, famous singer, composer, disciple of C Ashwath and founder of Pranathi Prathishtaana. He and his troupe entertained the audience by singing songs based on poetry from leading Kannada poets including Kuvempu, Da Ra Bendre, Shishunala Sharif, Nisar Ahmed among others. The event was a soulful and fun filled evening. Shri L. G. Jyothishwar appreciated the remarkable range of Shri Pranathi Raghavendra Rao’s voice and commented that Raghavendra Rao has built his own singing style.

On this occasion, members of Pranathi Prathishtaana were introduced to the activities for empowering specially-abled people at MitraJyothi. This program enables spreading the work of Pranathi Pratisthanaand MitraJyothi to a wider audience in association.
